Dr. Roland Nishioka, DmD
Dr. Nishioka has been practicing dentistry in his Pearl City practice for over three decades. He received his dental degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR.
Dr. Nishioka has four children, two of which have followed in his footsteps and are now practicing dentists in Hawaii. His son and daughter can now be found working in the office as well.
In his free time, Dr. Nishioka enjoys stand-up paddle surfing and taking care of his mango trees and pineapple plants. He also frequently visits his younger son, Tanner, who plays minor league baseball on the East Coast.
Dr. Travis Nishioka, DMD
Dr. Travis followed in his father’s footsteps and also received his Doctorate in Dentistry from Oregon Health & Science University. Upon graduating, he immediately moved home to join his father’s practice. Dr. Travis believes in what his father started: a family practice that is centered around being able to build strong relationships with his patients and providing them with personalized care.
In his free time, Dr. Travis enjoys playing board games such as Sequence and Catan with his fiancé. He also can be frequently found at the golf course, working on improving his swing.
Dr. Julia Nishioka, DDS
Dr. Julia received her dental degree from the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco, CA. Upon graduation from dental school, she spent four years working in the Bay Area. Recently, she moved home to join the practice and looks forward to getting to know all of the patients.
Julia’s first love is soccer. She often can be found playing at Ala Wai Park or helping coach high school girls. If not playing soccer, Julia can also be found walking the family dog, Nela, all around Kapiolani Park.
CHARIE Candy DUROPAN
Office Manager
Candy has been working in at our office since she was a teenager and enjoys working in the field as it allows her to help people maintain good oral health.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has four children: Caleb, Jacob, Dominic, and Karmyn. Her favorite dishes to eat include pho with rare steak and meatballs from Pho 808, pork sinigang from Thelma’s, and spinach ravioli with extra garlic bread from Bravo’s.
Lori Abe-REvera
Dental Hygienist
Lori’s favorite part of her job are the relationships she builds with her patients. She enjoys seeing them periodically throughout the year to check on their oral health, but also always makes a point to check in on their lives and their families.
She has two adorable children, Madi and Maddox. She enjoys spending time with the children and taking them to their favorite place, Disneyland. Lori’s favorite place to visit is Las Vegas, where she can be found playing the slot machines.
Katie Matsuno
Front Desk
Katie enjoys the dental field because she enjoys the social aspect - being able to interact with the patients and her fellow staff members. In addition to working at our office, she also works at a nail salon and is studying to be an esthetician.
Outside of the office, Katie enjoys going out with friends and family to eat delicious food and have a drink (she enjoys all types of alcohol!). Her favorite food to eat is sushi from Imana’s. She also likes listening to old school R&B music.
Marissa Jung-Guerrero
Dental Assistant
Marissa has over 20 years of experience in the dental field. She enjoys general dentistry because she likes the variety of problems she is able to solve - pain, aesthetics, and more.
Marissa loves Korean food and beverages. In her free time, she enjoys running, and has even completed a marathon! She also loves spending time learning about different cultures and histories of the world.
